Photo Journal - June 2010Packed out Sunday school. Preaching in the market. Teaching Pidgin and Kamea Literacy classes. Lashing a 3/4 mile bamboo aqueduct through the treetops. Breaking ground for a new clinic.
Kamea Learning to ReadMargaret, my language helper, and I finished the fourth and final primer in October 2009. Upon its completion we immediately bowed in prayer and then sang songs of praise unto the Lord. My heart was full of joy as I thought, “Can this be true? Can God use these simple books for His Word to go forth?”
Photo journal August, 2009We are in Lae again after three months in the bush. We are in town getting supplies and trading visitors for about a week. Just a few pictures of our life here and a note from Selina to pass along for now.
Departure for PNG!Cherith departs the USA for the foreign field.
This is why we are here.Jack Naudi (my language helper) and I went for a walk to see some villages to our north on Monday, July 6. On the way, we met this old lady (Nkiru—pronounced “n-key-due”) sitting on the side of the trail. I greeted her in the Kamea language, and she lit up (having one of the white people talk to you is a treat for the older folks).
